What was the highlight of Hotel Casalinda San Miguel
Location great; hotel lovely; staff is friendly & helpful; advertised amenities are lacking.
The staff was very helpful. Location was great. Room was very large & had 2 bathrooms.
They advertised Wifi but it was limited to reception area. Even our cellular was intermittant in the room. They advertised flat screen cable TV. It never worked. The staff was made aware & tried to help. But it was never fixed. Hot water was an issue. Some nights the shower was icy other nights we were scalded. One night when it was icy, I went out to tell staff & they ran off to turn the heat on it. These issues did not ruin our trip & it was definitely no fault of the staff. Management needs to be aware of and correct the problems for this property to receive excellent reviews.

The location in town is excellent.
The location in town is excellent. Only a couple blocks away from El Jardin (the main square). The room was spacious and very clean, and well decorated. The room also has air conditioning and heat, which is not very common in San Miguel.
It seems to be next door to a club, so one of the nights I heard distinct UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ but it wasn’t too bad.

Great location!
The location was excellent! A few minutes' walk to most everything. The hotel is a converted mansion, with an open courtyard in the center. I'm sure no two rooms are alike. The three we saw were beautiful. AND--there is the best bakery next door! The staff was caring and tried hard to make us comfortable.
It was soooo uncomfortably cold. (But December, what do I expect?) They did bring us a small space heater and a blanket, which helped some, though. Towels were threadbare. The clothes that hung in one closet smell so badly of mold that we bagged them separately and may have to toss.

Disaster
location
We checked in Friday night and were assigned room 104, my wife and I went for a weekend break without the kids. On Friday we slept very late with the surprise that at 6am on Saturday we woke up with hammering on the wall where the bed is, we spoke to reception and they told us that the previous day they had the same problem as the neighbors are collapsing the wall that adjoins the wall of my room, but that they had promised that on Saturday they would not work, but it was not like that. We had to leave the room because it was unbearable to be there, when talking to the people in charge they apologized, but I complained if they knew about the problem so that they give me that room I hoped that they would not charge me that night since I fell asleep 2am they woke me up 6am and I had to leave the room. In conclusion they told me that they could not do anything and at a rate of 200usd they discounted me 15usd. It makes me an abuse and lack of interest with their guests and simply for the lack of service and integrity I would not stay there and more when there are so many boutique hotels killing to give the best service.
